Dr. Gunning was born and raised in New City, New York
a suburb of New York City. He graduated with honors
from Duke University. He returned to New York City
for complete his medical education recieving a
military scholarship under the Health Professional
Scholarship Program. He graduated from New York
University Medical School receiving top honors and was
inducted into the AOA medical honor society.
Dr. Gunning finished his internship and residency at
Walter Reed Army Medical Center. After residency he
stayed on as teaching faculty and received the
distinction of Assistant Professor at the Uniformed
Services University of Health Sciences. He has
multiple publications in peer reviewed journals and
academic presentations. He is a diplomate of the
American Board of Dermatology and is a member of the
American Academy of Dermatology.
He is married and the father of two children.
